There was a time when the only thing that Hollywood starlets engaged into was bed hopping. And now the glitter of engagement rings — in the eyes anywhere you turn. What is this world coming to?

I just finished reading about Anna Paquin’s engagement to Moyer of True Blood and now it’s Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl TV Show. The reports of her engagement with her boy friend, the entertainment lawyer Simran Singh have been confirmed by her rep. No wedding date has been fixed so far.

Jamie Pressly broken up with her long time boy friend Eric Cubiche in last November after being together for almost a period of two years and they also have a two year old son together, named Dezi.

The newly engaged couple was spotted checking into the San Diego’s Hard Rock hotel on Thursday, July 30 where the Emmy award winning actress informed one of her friends that she had recently got engaged.

She was overheard telling a friend, “Nobody really knows yet, but we just got engaged.”

If the reports are to be believed, Jaime and her fiancé, Simran Singh organized a birthday party on Friday night, July 31, in order to celebrate Jaime’s 32^nd birthday. About 50 guests attended the party including some of Jaime’s closest friends. The birthday bash was organized at Float Bar where she shared champagne, kisses and cocktails with her beau. The partying group booked in to a VIP cabana and Pressly served her guests with her favorite red velvet cake, while her guests intermingled and took pleasure in city views.

One of the guests told the People magazine that, “Jaime was showing off a huge diamond engagement ring on her left hand. Girlfriends were coming up to her and they were all congratulating her on the engagement.” The guest further added that the two lovebirds make an “adorable couple.”

Created by Greg Garcia, My Name is Earl is one of the most successful and popular series of American television. It’s one of the best projects of Greg’s career and as of now, the man is planning to give his next to best (means the bestest production). The new series would be a comedic one and would be aired on the FOX Network. And, it sounds like the new project would be twistier than My Name is Earl!

Well, it also seems that the new show would derive some of its features from My Name is Earl and some from Yes, Dear. . Talking about the new series, Greg Garcia says “It’s kind of in the world that ‘Earl’ inhabited, the same type of people. And with ‘Yes, Dear,’ I enjoyed writing about families and raising children. So I came up with this idea, which in a way combines those two things”.

The storyline of the show, untitled yet, would center on a 25-year-old. He has a one night stand with the woman who in on death row for murder. As a result, the guy would have to raise their infant himself and with a little help from his dysfunctional family. The leading character of the series would also be seen clashing with his parents often. When the concept hit Greg Garcia’s mind, he thought to give it the form of a movie. But, later he changed his mind and decided to bring a TV series to the fans. The Fox Network would serve as the podium for the new show. Well, casting is not done yet and hopes are that the production of the episodes would be commenced this fall.

Anyways, My Name is Earl has gone. The series came to an end on May 14, 2009 with the series finale entitled ‘Dodge’s Dad”. It has not been very long since the cancellation of the show and Greg has found his way to move on. There was a little ray of hope that he may decide to bring My Name is Earl back to TV screens but his involvement with new projects means that the man has no such plans.

A few days ago, it was reported that the NBC Network was reluctant to pick My Name is Earl for a fifth season.  Then, there were rumors that Fox Network or TBS Network would take up the show for the fifth season. But finally, it has been officially confirmed that My Name is Earl has been cancelled.  The decision was taken after a set of difficult negotiations, turned out to be futile.

The 20^th Century Fox Television tried its best to sell the show to TBS or TNT. There was even a possibility that the Fox Network would itself host the show. However, all the efforts went in vain and the official statement from 20th Century Fox is “While we hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series”.

Therefore, now you can put aside all the speculations about the revival of My Name is Earl. Series creator Greg Garcia confirmed with profound regret that My Name is Earl has no future. He also added, “We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work”.

The series ran on the NBC Network for four successful seasons. In the first year of its run, the series garnered 10.1 million viewers but the ratings dropped gradually in the succeeding seasons. In addition, the delays in the production and the 2007 writers’ strike, paved the way for the series’ cancellation.

The ratings of My Name is Earl tv show are not going good and it’s just the fourth season of series. Throughout its three seasons, My Name is Earl did a marvelous job and had been one of the most popular NBC shows since its premiere. But, as series returns with the fourth season, ratings started declining and people started losing their interest in the series. Whatever is there but ‘My Name is Earl’ is nowhere near to get cancelled. Fans would like to see more of Mr. Earl making right the wrongs that he had done throughout his life. We all have heard about this star, Eddie Steeples from this hit comedy series ‘My Name Is Earl.’ In the series he plays Darnell, Joy’s current husband. Just like his role in the series, this guy is loved by everyone on the sets and his personal life, mostly because of his open attitude towards life. Eddie never feels shy about things that he likes and accepts them openly; it’s this attitude of his that is liked by people the most.

For this Earl star life is an imitation of art. Eddie in real life is pretty much like his character, Darnell ‘Crab Man’ Turner, which he plays in the series. Just like we have always seen him with tobacco on screen, the actor loves the ganja, in his real life, too. “Eddie loves smoking weed,” as per the information. “He likes smoking blunts, which are made with tobacco leaves - usually grape or peach flavored - and filled with marijuana.”

Now guys don’t get the star wrong. It’s not like he walks around in a mist of smoke 24/7, it’s just that when he’s done with work, he likes to relax by kicking back with a good smoke. That is his way of relaxing. Another thing that we got to know about Eddie is that “Just like Darnell on the show, Eddie doesn’t hide his marijuana use, as a matter of fact, he doesn’t really care who knows that he likes to get high!” Now that is attitude, if you do it, do it openly.

If there is anything I like more than watching my favorite series ‘My name is Earl’, then it’s reading about it and discussing it with my friends. It’s such a whacky comedy that it has me in splits every time. It goes without saying that Jason Lee is my favorite but I like Pressly in the role of Joy a lot. She has all the oomph needed to keep us glued to the screen. Recently, while going through a celebrity gossip site, I came upon this piece of news about Jamie Pressly that I think you would find interesting.

The buzz is that her engagement with DJ Cubiche has run into rough weather. As we all know that the couple has been engaged for the last two years and together they have an 18 month old son, Dezi. Well, sources close to the couple revealed that they are on a break and considering permanent split. US Weekly quoted the insider, “They hit a rough patch and decided to take break. They still love each other and Dezi is their world.”

Oh boy, that’s really touching. But, then all relationships need to be worked upon constantly. I sincerely hope that they resolve the issues troubling them soon.
