‘My Name is Earl’ revolves around Earl Hickey, whose life has been full of poor mistakes and poor choices. He did bad things (258 by his own count!) and that’s why leads a pathetic life. After discovering that he is the owner of winning lottery ticket with $ 100, 000 cash prize, he starts jumping with joy. Earl is hit by a car and he loses the ticket in this process as he lies unconscious in the street.

While recovering at hospital, he watches a program at hospital TV about the Karma (fate) that his bad luck is the result of bad things that he did in the past. Earl realizes that fate punishes everyone for all bad things he/she has ever done in his/her life.

Earl learns that to get good things in his life, he must have to do good things. After understanding the reality of life, Earl thanks Carson Daly, who attributes his success to doing well for others. He decides to dedicate his life to making rights of all the wrongs that he did. My Name is Earl, shows the journey of Earl as he tries to improve his life. On Earl’s do -good mission, he is assisted by his brother, Randy and his former wife, Joy.
